Odisha Governor Tours Tribal Districts to Boost Governance

Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, currently visiting the districts of Koraput and Malkangiri, emphasized governance, infrastructure, and community development in the undivided Koraput area.

Upon reaching Jeypore Airport, he was greeted by local officials, such as Collector Manoj Satyawan Mahajan and SP Rohit Verma. The Governor’s agenda featured evaluations of agriculture, education, healthcare, and tourism, as well as engagement with local communities.

Dr. Kambhampati visited tribal farmers at the Koraput Coffee Board who are involved in coffee farming and commended their work in establishing a worldwide recognition for Koraput coffee. He talked about enhancing the market opportunities for the crop and emphasized sustainable livelihoods. Subsequently, he led a meeting with NALCO representatives, encouraging the public sector entity to harmonize industrial advancement with community development.

The Governor examined the facilities at Shaheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and emphasized the necessity for enhanced healthcare infrastructure. He also interacted with recipients of government initiatives, Red Cross members, and prominent figures, while promoting greater involvement in welfare programs.

His itinerary featured stops at Odisha Central University, the HAL factory in Sunabeda, the Rajput Millet Processing Unit, the Deomali tourist destination, and the Pungar Eklavya Adarsh Residential School. During each visit, he engaged with students, educators, SHG members, and community stakeholders, emphasizing the significance of education, women’s empowerment, and community-based development. He examined the Sukhoi Engine facility in Sunabeda and conversed with HAL officials about strategic initiatives.

During a review meeting at Saddhavana Hall, Dr. Kambhampati instructed officials to hasten the distribution of forest land leases, ensure the Jala Jeevan Mission projects are finished by 2026, and complete the Bharatmala road projects by March 2026 to enhance connectivity with Visakhapatnam. He recommended that banks focus on youth and first-time entrepreneurs through social security and Mudra initiatives.

The Governor toured cultural and religious locations, such as the Jagannath Temple at Shabar Srikshetra, and participated in cultural events highlighting Koraputia customs.

Throughout the tour, he was joined by legislators, high-ranking officials, and local representatives. The Governor’s trip, spanning vital areas from agriculture to infrastructure, highlighted the state’s commitment to enhancing governance and fostering inclusive growth in southern Odisha.
